SPICE FUSION COMMUNITY HUB

Discover How Spice Fusion with initiatives like Meera’s Art and our Child Road Safety Campaign, is making a lasting impact in Rainham, Kent.

Supporting Children During Challenging Times

During the lockdown, Spice Fusion Kent stepped up to make a difference, preparing and delivering nourishing meals to vulnerable and disadvantaged children in our community.

Each week, our kitchen became a hub of hope, as we meticulously packed hundreds of meals with the same love and care that we pour into every dish served at our restaurant.

Meera’s Artwork

Spice Fusion is a great supporter of local people and we are very proud to be exhibiting Meera’s art.  All the pieces you see here are displayed in our bar.

Come along and visit from 6 pm to 9 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, stay and have a drink or a meal if you want, but do spend some time looking at her work.

Kitchen Windowsill

Oil

Price: £90

This is an oil painting of Meera’s kitchen windowsill.  The vintage blue bottles are the main subject. All the subjects are challenging with their translucency, transparency and reflections, such as the curtain, window,  glass bottles and even the tiles. Blues stand out when the orange oil bottle is placed in between.

Blue Tit

This is a small but beautiful painting. Meera really enjoyed painting this little blue tit who is a regular visitor to her garden. They start to visit from October onwards through the winter months.  Painted using thick paint to give it texture and feel.

Green Mister

Oil

Price: £75

A cute little water mister for plants.  As a keen gardener, it’s no wonder Meera chose to paint this.  Painted realistically with high contrast and details she has tried to highlight the metal parts and the shapes and curves of the green glass.  The reflection also plays an important part in this little painting.

Robin

Acrylic

Vibrant colours and a unique style of painting; bringing out a glow to the painting through brush strokes and technique.

Purple Tree

Oil

Price: £150

This is a beautiful place called Kothagiri in South India surrounded by natural beauty. Meera loves mountains and hills.  She painted this with blocks of thick paint.  An uphill earthy road leads somewhere. The right-hand bush is stopping your eyes and leading it back to the trees.

Jars

Oil

This is another painting from the Jars series. One of Meera’s favourite paintings and a popular one too… she tried to capture the three dimensions of the bottles.  The placement of each object is well-balanced to maintain the interest and flow through the painting.

Yellow Marmalade

Oil

Price: £450

This painting is from Meera’s Jars series. Meera has tried to show the transparency of the marmalade jar.  She does a lot of home preserving and used to be obsessed with it at one point. The mug is so close to you and the parasol will give an idea of distance.

Pathway to Happiness

This is a beautiful place called Kothagiri in south India surrounded by natural beauty. Meera kept painting the road in different ways and colours but was not satisfied.  In the end, she painted this. All those layers are hiding beneath the road you are seeing now.
